Overhang
Fix rough or drooping surfaces underneath angled parts of a model.
An overhang occurs when each new layer extends beyond the layer underneath it.
As the angle becomes steeper, there is less material supporting the new extrusion.
Make sure the part-cooling fan is working correctly, especially when printing PLA.
Reducing layer height can improve overhangs because each layer extends a smaller horizontal distance.
Slowing overhang printing can also give the material more time to cool.
Lowering nozzle temperature slightly may help if the filament remains too soft.
Model orientation is one of the most effective solutions. Rotating the model can sometimes eliminate difficult overhangs entirely.
If the geometry cannot be changed, enable supports.
Different materials behave differently. PLA usually handles overhangs well because it cools quickly, while PETG can remain softer for longer.
Common causes: inadequate cooling, excessive temperature, high layer height, poor model orientation.
